‘Poms in Perth’ was established in October 2001 Mark and Tracey Turner - a migrant couple from the UK. We realized through our own personal migration experiences that there was a general lack of quality accommodation and information available for migrants and visitors destined for Perth on the Internet. We found that information was difficult to find, and when found was scattered across many different websites. The biggest problem we found was that it was particularly difficult to find good quality, furnished, short-term accommodation in Perth, and that many individuals already in Perth were taking advantage of the currency exchange rate by charging extortionate rates for their less-than average accommodation.

We came up with a solution that would address all the issues that we encountered through our own migration process. Our solution was:
  • To provide migrants and visitors a one-stop website with as much information about the migration process, life down under and Perth as possible
  • To provide first-class fully furnished accommodation to migrants and visitors at affordable, realistic rates (short term or long term), in good locations throughout the Perth metro area
  • To provide a common area on our website which would allow migrants and those thinking about migrating to/visiting Perth ? to discuss any issues with fellow migrants or those already in Perth via a discussion forum
  • To offer migrants the best possible start to their migration process both pre and post arrival in Perth, and to extend our services by offering free advise on anything from suburb information to schools, tradesmen to local pubs!
The concept has been a huge success from day one. ‘Poms in Perth’ now consists of 8 properties. During our 7 years in operation, we have consistently raised the bars on the quality of our accommodation. Our properties are newly built or near new, with plush interiors, quality accessories, comfortable furniture, air-conditioning, swimming pool or spa, and are all within easy reach of beaches, schools, freeway, city, major shopping centres and public transport systems.

Our core mission is to offer migrants the best possible quality accommodation upon their arrival, at the best rates we can possibly offer them.
